Vietnam Semi-Automatic Aluminum Anodizing Line: Integrated Two-Acid Polishing, Anodizing and Coloring Solution

Market Background

Vietnam has become an active manufacturing base for aluminum extrusion and surface treatment, with anodizing, coloring, powder coating, and electrophoretic finishing used for architectural and industrial aluminum products. Local surface-treatment operations increasingly require flexible production configurations that can handle different finishing requirements while maintaining controllable process conditions.

For small and medium-sized aluminum processors, however, a fully automatic anodizing plant may not always be the most practical configuration. Production volume, product variety, investment planning, and operator requirements can make a semi-automatic aluminum anodizing line a suitable option for phased capacity development.

Customer and Application Scenario

The customer in Vietnam required one semi-automatic aluminum anodizing line for a small-scale production operation. The planned process includes two-acid polishing, anodizing, electrolytic coloring, chemical coloring, and sealing.

This process configuration is designed for aluminum profiles and related aluminum products that require controlled surface finishing and different appearance options. Chemical polishing is used as a pretreatment step to improve the aluminum surface before anodizing, while electrolytic coloring and chemical coloring provide alternative finishing routes. Sealing is then used as a post-treatment step for the anodized layer.

The project is currently in the installation stage, with a contracted delivery period of 90 days.

Our Solution

Based on the customer's process requirements and production scale, we supplied a semi-automatic aluminum anodizing production line configured around the specified treatment sequence.

Process Configuration

The line is arranged to support:

  • Two-acid polishing

  • Aluminum anodizing

  • Electrolytic coloring

  • Chemical coloring

  • Sealing

  • Material transfer between process stages

This configuration allows the customer to operate different surface-treatment processes within one integrated production system rather than relying on separate processing equipment.

The solution also considers the practical requirements of semi-automatic operation. Operators can manage material transfer and process stages while maintaining defined treatment sequences. This approach provides a balance between equipment investment, production flexibility, and process control.

The selected configuration follows established aluminum anodizing process logic, where pretreatment, anodizing, coloring, and sealing are controlled as interconnected stages rather than isolated operations. Similar production lines in Vietnam use combinations of polishing, anodizing, coloring, and sealing for aluminum surface treatment.

Customer Feedback

As the project is currently being installed, formal production-performance feedback is not yet available. At this stage, the key customer requirement is the implementation of the specified semi-automatic process line within the agreed 90-day delivery period.

The project therefore focuses first on correct equipment configuration, process integration, installation coordination, and preparation for commissioning. Production results such as coating appearance, color consistency, anodizing performance, and sealing quality should be evaluated after the line enters normal operation.

Summary

This Vietnam project demonstrates how a semi-automatic aluminum anodizing line can be configured for small-scale aluminum surface-treatment production. By integrating two-acid polishing, anodizing, electrolytic coloring, chemical coloring, and sealing into one production system, the solution is aligned with the customer's specific process requirements while retaining the operational flexibility of semi-automatic equipment.

For aluminum processors planning a new or upgraded anodizing facility, the key selection factors should include the required treatment sequence, production scale, coloring options, equipment automation level, installation schedule, and future expansion requirements.
